Semen analysis for fertility and post-vasectomy

Andrology is a specialist area involving men’s health, including fertility issues and sexual dysfunction.

At SWLP we offer a dedicated andrology service at Croydon University Hospital, which provides semen testing for patients in Croydon, covering:

  • semen analysis as part of a routine infertility investigation 
  • post-vasectomy semen analysis to check the success of a vasectomy operation.

Appointments can be booked by calling 0208 401 3000, ext 5560 between 09:00 and 17:00. Samples are taken in our private sample collection room.

Semen test results will be communicated to your doctor within five working days.

Scopio digital platform introduced at Croydon Hospital for blood film morphology

A new digital platform called Scopio by Beckman Coulter has been introduced at Croydon Hospital for blood film morphology. The new platform can do a full field scan, which means that it is scanning the entire blood film, including feathery edge of the blood film, which is why it is able to look at almost all, if not all, cell types present on that particular film.
