Enquiries, comments and complaints

We want to ensure that we are aware of any issues that you may have and that they are investigated and resolved appropriately.

Please email us at SWLPComms@stgeorges.nhs.uk and we will investigate every reported issue. If you are emailing about a patient or test result, in order to resolve any queries we will need the following information:

  • The patient’s NHS number
  • Date the sample was ordered
  • Name of the test ordered
  • Which service area (Microbiology, Clinical Blood Sciences, Cellular Pathology)
  • Which surgery/ward you are from

This will allow each query to be logged and allocated to a named individual for investigation.

Courier service

Our courier services provider is ERS Medical. If you have any queries or have an issue that you need resolved, please contact 020 8266 6510 (between hours of 8am to 8pm).

If you are based at St George’s Hospital you can log the call yourself using the HEAT system.

Invoicing/billing enquiries

We are hosted by St George’s University Hospitals Foundation Trust and our Accounts Payable and Receivable Functions are managed by NHS Shared Business Services (SBS). If you have any queries, please contact SBS in the first instance – Contact Us | NHS SBS.

Results and clinical advice

Our laboratory services are divided into three divisions:

  • Clinical Blood Sciences
  • Infection and Immunity (which includes Microbiology and Immunology)
  • Cellular Pathology.

The table below show the numbers to call for results and advice for the different disciplines and locations.

Most results should be available electronically, so the results lines are for results that have not come through the usual route.

All immunology and cellular pathology samples are processed at St George’s Hospital.

    All immunology samples should now be sent in yellow top blood tubes
