IT

Informatics is critical to the provision of healthcare and South West London Pathology use a number of integrated IT systems to provide electronic requests and results for both primary and secondary care.

At South West London Pathology GP reports are delivered electronically directly to the practice. Electronic delivery was introduced for our GPs via the Pathology Messaging Implementation Project (PMIP) which is the national NHS project that introduced universal delivery of electronic pathology results to GPs in Great Britain.

The electronic delivery of test results from our laboratories to clinical users means diagnosis can be speeded up and ensures accurate and timely delivery of critical clinical information.
