On 1 May 2021, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust joined to form an expanded South West London Pathology partnership.
Providing core and specialist services
We offer a wide range of diagnostic and clinical support services to our five hospitals and GPs across London and further, as well as to other NHS institutions and private organisations. Our service covers 3.5 million people across south west London via five hospitals and over 450 GP practices.
We provide an extensive repertoire of tests as well as a comprehensive set of specialist tests and services. We provide an efficient service that is high in quality and value for money.
We regularly review our repertoire and introduce new diagnostic tests that allow for more specific diagnosis or provide quicker turnaround times which will speed up a patient’s diagnosis.
State-of-the-art laboratories
All of our laboratories are state of the art and adopt the most up-to-date and cutting edge technology. The laboratories at Croydon, Epsom and St Helier, Kingston and St George’s hospitals offer fully-automated blood sciences services.
The hub laboratory at St George’s Hospital also has leading microbiology laboratories with the newest technology, an immunology laboratory with a specialist protein reference unit and modern cellular pathology laboratories providing a full range of core and specialist services.
Expert clinical advice
We have experienced consultant pathologists who can provide extensive clinical and interpretative advice to those using our services. They are supported by clinical and biomedical scientists and additional support staff provide analytical, interpretive and advisory services across our network of laboratories.
Our clinical blood sciences and microbiology laboratories operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Clinical and scientific advice is also currently available 24 hours a day.
Fully accredited labs
All our laboratories are regularly inspected and are accredited and regulated by external agencies such as UKAS.
