Cellular Pathology

Our cellular pathology service offers a comprehensive range of histopathology, cytopathology, and perinatal pathology and hospital autopsy services.

Our expertise is wide ranging and is supported by experienced clinical and scientific staff – many of whom contribute to the teaching of medical undergraduates and postgraduates.

All our consultants have a sub-specialty interest and attend multi-disciplinary team meetings and national external quality assessment schemes relevant to their areas of interest.

Our hub laboratory for cellular pathology is based at St George’s Hospital. Facilities include:

  • fully equipped video-conferencing rooms used for on-site
  • remote multi-disciplinary team meetings
  • teaching.

  • skin pathology
  • breast pathology
  • head and neck pathology
  • genitourinary pathology
  • upper and lower gastrointestinal pathology
  • gynaecological histopathology
  • cervical cytology
  • endocrine pathology
  • haematopathology.
