Lesley has been with South West London Pathology (SWLP) for over a decade, starting in an administrative role when the organisation was newly formed. Her strong organisational skills and deep understanding of pathology operations quickly set her apart, leading to her promotion to Business Account and Development Officer. In this role, Lesley has taken on key responsibilities such as managing major client accounts like New Victoria Hospital and driving business development efforts. Her career progression at SWLP reflects her dedication and the significant contributions she has made to the organisation’s growth and success.

Meera Mylvaganam: pioneering Advanced Biomedical Scientist reaches new heights with rare diagnostic cytology qualification
Meera Mylvaganam, an Advanced Biomedical Scientist specialising in Cellular Pathology, has recently achieved a significant milestone in her career by earning a rare qualification in diagnostic cytology which allows her to report on malignant exfoliative cytology cases. She is one of only 12 BMSs in the country to hold the qualification.

Immunology Education Session For GPs
In July, St George’s Hospital organised an educational evening for local GPs to find out more about services on offer at St George’s. Dr Jo Sheldon, Immunology Clinical Lead, ran a session on Immunology.
Immunology Training Days
In June, Dr Jo Sheldon, Clinical Lead for Immunology and Dr Rachel Wheeler, Consultant Clinical Scientist, held two Association of Clinical Pathologist training days for Immunology at St George’s.
Westminster University Employers’ Day
In June, South West London Pathology were invited by the University of Westminster to give a presentation to employers who are considering taking students from University of Westminster as apprentices.

Careers Day at Kingston Hospital
In May, Kingston Hospital held a careers day giving visitors and potential students the opportunity to meet staff members from Pathology, Maternity, Nursing, IT, Finance, Human Resources, Radiology, Intensive Care, Theatres and many other departments.
Croydon Laboratory Tours
In May the laboratory at Croydon hosted two laboratory tours for staff and visitors giving them the opportunity to find out what happens in a laboratory, meet staff working there and to ask any questions about what happens to sample in the laboratory.
