10 November 2020

Specialist Biomedical Scientist Micsha Costa

SWLP Specialist Biomedical Scientist Micsha Costa has scooped a prestigious Advancing Healthcare Award, which are given annually to recognise and reward the accomplishments of healthcare scientists, allied health professionals and the staff members who work alongside them.

Mischa, who works in the Immunology and Protein Reference Unit at St George’s Hospital, was recognised in the category of ‘Rising Star’ for her dedication to the profession and her hard work, and for always being the first to volunteer to help and support others whatever the challenge.

Micsha says that she is very humbled by the award, adding that the thing that she is most happy about is the recognition of Biomedical Science as a profession. Sadly, Micsha cannot receive her award at the usual ceremony because of Covid restrictions, however a trophy is winging its way to her.

SWLP Managing Director Simon Brewer says, “We are so proud of what Micsha has achieved and that her hard work and dedication have been recognised at such a high level. Biomedical Scientists are often the unsung heroes of healthcare, so it is fantastic to see one of our own in the spotlight.”
