The South West London Pathology (SWLP) laboratory at Croydon Hospital will be the first in the world to use an analyser from the Werfen ACL TOP 700 series. The ACL TOP 570 has anew and improved design and can run more tests every hour.
It also includes the HemoHub, which supports automated performance verification and advanced connectivity for centralised quality control and result management using the HemoHub intelligent Data Manager.
Later in the year, the SWLP haematology laboratory at St George’s Hospital will deploy the Werfen ACL TOP 970 series, which combines the current technology with chemiluminescence for on demand availability of haemostasis test panels such as ADAMTS 13 and Von Willebrand screen panels including collagen binding.
SWLP Director of Operations Jamie Laughlin says, “We are excited to be the first laboratory in the world to introduce the ACL TOP 700 series and to see first-hand the improvements it can bring to our service and ultimately the patient. We are implementing the most innovative and up to date technologies across our services and this is a great example of how we are doing this.”
