Reporting frequency TAT - Acid Fast Bacilli microscopy results available same day as receipt, culture within 42 days.

Collection conditions

Use for bronchial alveolar lavage, gastric washings, fine needle aspirate, tissues and aspirates. Samples should be collected early in the morning (before breakfast) on 3 consecutive days and delivered to the lab ASAP to avoid acid deterioration of the sample
