The Microbiology laboratory at South West London Pathology (SWLP) is now following advice set out in the UK Standards for Microbiology Investigation for the investigation of faecal specimens for Clostridioides difficile (UKHSA) regarding criteria for C. difficile testing.

Collection conditions
The laboratory provides approved semen collection pots. Samples collected in non-approved containers will be rejected.

Patients are strongly advised to produce semen samples using our dedicated specimen collection facility next to the laboratory to ensure the specimens are processed in a timely manner.
