Dr Charanjit Kaur

Clinical Lead - Cellular Pathology

Based at: St George's Hospital

Dr Kaur joined St George’s Hospital in 2014, having previously worked at the Whittington Hospital. She subspecialised while at St George’s and her special areas of interest are breast and gastrointestinal pathology and dermatopathology.

She graduated from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College in India in 1990 and was then commissioned into the Indian army as a general medical officer. After serving for five years as a Captain in the Indian Army Medical Corps, she took her release from army service and did her postgraduation in Pathology in India. She joined the UK Histopathology training programme (London region) in 2003 and obtained her FRCPath degree in 2007.

Dr Kaur has a special interest in medical education and is a GMC recognised Medical Educator, involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. She has been the Lead Educational Supervisor for the Histopathology trainees at St George’s and oversees the delivery of the training programme in the department. She also contributes to regional pathology teaching for pan-London trainees.

Dr Kaur will be deputised in her role by Dr Nilukshi Wijesuriya.
