Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Band 6) – Clinical Biochemistry

We are currently seeking to recruit a full-time Band 6 BMS.  We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated, hard-working individuals able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work.  Appointment will be dependent on experience with the Band 6 posts requiring 18months post HCPC registration.  The posts are for 37.5 hours a week.

This post is based at St. Georges’ Hospital however the post holders may be required to work at any of the South West London Pathology sites as and when necessary.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and motivated State Registered Biomedical Scientists to join a well-established team within the Biochemistry section of this busy department, which has full UKAS Accreditation. The department actively encourages further education and CPD activities. Biomedical scientists within the Biochemistry section work on Roche Cobas 8000 analysers and Roche P612 pre-analytics. There is also a strong special Chemistry service offering HPLC and mass spectrometry.

Applicants must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and have post registration experience in a CPA or IBMS accredited laboratory.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the 24 hour/ seven day service.
