South West London Pathology is proud to celebrate a truly outstanding achievement by one of our own.
Shiva Joshi, a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in our Blood Sciences department at Croydon Hospital, has been recognised as the 2nd best performer worldwide in the 2026 Andrology and Embryology External Quality Assessment (EQA) scheme.
This remarkable result places Shiva among 955 participants from 374 laboratories across Europe (94%), Asia (5%), and the Americas (2%). It follows a consistent track record of excellence, having previously secured 3rd place in 2021 and 2nd place in 2022.
With over a decade of experience in Andrology, Shiva previously honed his skills at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College NHS Trust, gaining expertise in cryopreservation within an HFEA-licensed laboratory. He is currently working towards his specialist portfolio in andrology.
