South West London Pathology
Those working in pathology (the study of disease) investigate the causes of illness and how it progresses, carry out tests on tissue, blood and other samples from patients. They play a crucial role in the diagnosis of illness by helping doctors choose the best type of treatment for patients, and monitoring its effectiveness.
South West London Pathology consists of three departments:
- Cellular Pathology
- Clinical Blood Sciences (Blood Transfusion, Biochemistry, Haematology and Immunology)
- Medical Microbiology
We process over 17 million billable tests per year serving 1.5 million people across south west London via three hospitals, 200 GP practices and 30 healthcare centres.
All our laboratories use state-of-the-art, cutting edge technology and are supported by an integrated IT network.
