Elizabeth Olagbaju – HR Advisor

Based at: St George's Hospital

Name

Elizabeth Olagbaju

Role

Elizabeth is a Recruitment Officer, based in the Corporate Services team. Elizabeth has been with SWLP for two years.

What does an average day look like for you?

Elizabeth is very organised and plans for the following day the evening before. She is a key point of contact for new starters, so she spends time talking to them on the phone or when they pop into her office to resolve any issues and ask questions.

Elizabeth deals with the recruitment process from start to finish – she gets job specs agreed then posts them on NHS jobs. She supports the interview process and is likely to be one of the first people you talk to at SWLP once you have been offered the job, helping with paperwork and new starter processes.

What is your favourite thing about the job?

As part of her job, Elizabeth enjoys getting to meet people from a wide range of backgrounds and supporting them when they start at SWLP. She also enjoys getting involved with a wide range of HR duties, expanding her knowledge of HR.

Is there a moment you will always remember?

In September last year, Elizabeth was accepted to do a Masters in HR Management at the University of Westminster. Through the SWLP Training Group, Elizabeth was able to secure 50% of her funding for the course from SWLP. She will complete her course over two years, and will be able to apply the learning to her current role.

How did you get into HR?

Elizabeth’s first degree is in HR from the University of East London. While completing her studies, Elizabeth did some Bank work for the NHS, working at South London and Maudsley NHS Trust. When she finished her degree she took up a permanent post at the Trust and after six months the role came up at SWLP.
