Our new pathology videos!

Filming is underway at our hub laboratories as we team up with the Royal College of Pathologists to create new video resources for patients, students and the general public.

The videos will follow the journey of four different types of sample through our state of the art laboratories. Filming is currently taking place in two of our laboratories; the first video looks at what happens to a blood sample in the Clinical Blood Sciences lab, and the second tracks a biopsy sample on its journey through our Histology laboratory. More filming is planned to create videos on how testing is carried out in our state of the art microbiology laboratories.

The videos explain how a sample is processed in our labs and how reports are issued to clinical teams. The videos will also highlight the variety of roles within the laboratory and the vital contribution pathology makes to patient diagnosis and treatment.

We are planning to launch the videos in the near future, sharing them on social media and promoting them on our website as a free resource.

Once the videos are completed we will share them on our website and social media channels such as  Twitter @swlpathology and LinkedIn (South West London Pathology).

Check back in March to view the videos on this website!
