In April Croydon showcased their work to hospital staff and visitors by holding an event in the foyer of the hospital. Staff and visitors had the opportunity to speak to scientists working in the labs and to find out about their work and how they can get the most from their pathology service.

SWLP hosted the prestigious Royal College of Pathologists Fellowship Examination for bacteriology and virology in April.

Dr Jo Sheldon, Clinical Lead for Immunology, ran a number of sessions for GPs in April about the Immunology service provided by SWLP.

SWLP were finalists for a Lord Carter Innovation Award – the first year of the awards.

SWLP took part in Healthcare Science Week in March which is a national event giving healthcare science professionals across the UK the opportunity to highlight the outstanding work they do and the impact this work has on patient care.

Dr Jo Sheldon, Consultant Immunologist, has been awarded a Royal College of Pathologists medal for services to pathology, training and public engagement.

Congratulations to Mary Iheke for winning the silver medal in the Women’s 4×400 metres relay at the 2017 European Athletics Indoor Championships!

South West London Pathology have won an NHS London Leadership Recognition Award in the ‘Outstanding Team – Non Clinical’ category!

Our extensive list of visitors to our laboratories continues to grow – UK, Europe, China, Middle East, Australia – and in January we added visitors from South Africa to our list.
