Test Information

• Container:
  Universal 30ml (white) or Sputum Pot 60ml (silver)
   
• Collection conditions:
  Samples can be taken from sputum, bronchial alveolar lavage, endotracheal tube aspirate, nasopharyngeal tube aspirate. -
   
• Min vol:
  Minimum 1ml sputum. For bronchial specimens the volumes will vary widely depending on the procedure
   
• Reporting Frequency:
  TAT - Acid Fast Bacilli microscopy results available same day as receipt, culture within 42 days.
