Container:Stool Pot 30ml (Blue)
Collection conditions:If a hot stool is to be taken the lab will need to be informed urgently within half an hour of taking the specimen. -
Min vol:Fill at least a third of the container. Testing is only performed on diarrhoeal stool specimens (liquid or semi-formed faeces).
Reporting Frequency:TAT - Culture within 3 - 4 days
Additional informationIf amoebic dysentery is suspected please contact the Microbiologist to discuss the most appropriate investigation. If a hot stool is to be taken the lab will need to be informed urgently within half an hour of taking the specimen.
